Plasticidad, Pavilion in Mexico City
Architecture competition by Arquine
Group Project with: Lavanya Balan, Dane Wallace
Our proposal allows local vendors to display their products on pyramidal ladders. Vendors can suspend their products on the larger modules and utilize the smaller modules to their needs. Once the exhibition is over, this Pavilion can be reconfigured in multiple ways and reused by vendors of all kinds. We worked with simple, off-the-shelf materials to create a flexible. The armatures are meant to display products and can be curated by the festival organizers. For this year’s exhibition, we have chosen to highlight materiality that speaks to the conversation of recyclability in CDMX and allows a platform for artists and vendors to display their work. The structures allow for adaptability in how they are configured and highlight the importance of reuse for the future.
